7th traditional international festival “Nida Jazz Maratonas 2007”

Dear Jazz Fellows!
"Nida Jazz Maratonas" will step into summer jazz stage of "Auksines Kopos" Hotel in Nida for the seventh time already and for the first time into outside stage of "Azuolynas" holiday house in Juodkrante. The festival makes Nida famous as jazz loving European resort.
Since 2001 when jazz festivity in Nida has been held for the first time it developed from a weekly concert series into international festival of month long concerts marathon.
Nida festival as a symbolic yearly season start for informal Nida jazz loving fan club rightly became Lithuanian jazz society summer gravity center.
However the festival does not aim at gathering jazz fans only. It aims to be an attractive gourmand type entertainment to resort holidaymakers of diverse needs and taste.
The fact that modern jazz can be as well such charming entertainment already fourth year in succession was proved by Vladimir Chekasin, the patriarch of Lithuanian jazz, who became a living symbol of Nida jazz festivity. He will present an intriguing project this year also.
Closeness to jazz for many of us will be evidenced by a group of tennis players who also will join Nida jazz community this summer for the third time together with their families. The Lithuanian amateur’s tennis tournament for the "Nida Jazz Maratonas" 2007 cup will be held along with the festival. When competitions are over participants of the tournament every evening will migrate to "Auksines Kopos" Hotel to enjoy jazz.
Traditionally jazz sound will spread over Curonian lagoon when musicians and their fans will jam swimming out on the festival boat.
Nida jazz festival is being singled out of other jazz forums of the country by a cozy family atmosphere and chamber mood.
We are grateful to "Auksines Kopos" Hotel for cherishing jazz in the most beautiful Lithuanian resort. It takes care of the festival since its birth.
Our gratitude also extends to Neringa Municipality and to the Ministry of Culture for supporting this year’s event.
Nida jazz fans will rejoice at musical gifts of the festival again because of the Maecenas UAB "Silberauto", the main supporter UAB "Siemens", the great supporter AB "Lietuvos dujos" and all other sponsors of "Nida Jazz Maratonas".
We thank for support to Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, and Mrs. Kristina Brazauskiene, and to all those supporting us and providing publicity about us.
