Traditional “Battle of Deltuva”

On June 22-24, you are welcome to the center of Ukmergė city and to the town of Deltuva, where the traditional “Battle of Deltuva”, the staging of the battle between the Russian and Napoleon’s armies in 1812, is going to be performed. You will admire the ancient military ammunition and courageous army men, as well as charming army ladies. Here ,you will get a chance to see and touch weapons dating back to 1812 and to try soldiers’ porridge the way it was prepared in 1812.
You are most welcome to visit Deltuva!
Event programme
Friday 06 22
From 6 p.m. – setting up a camp (dressing, setting tents, etc)
From 8 p.m. – meal (thick soup, bread), 8.30p.m. – a live lesson of military history for the visitors
9 p.m. – a military history lesson (armament and ammunition of French and Russian soldiers)
9.30 pm – consultation of the generals on the future battle
10 p.m. - staging of the episodes of the Borodino battle from the film “War and Peace”.
12 p.m – the end of the programme
Saturday 06 23
8 am – wake-up command
From 9 a.m. – breakfast (tea, sandwiches, boiled eggs, vegetables, etc.)
11 a.m – command to gather
11.45 – gathering near the Church of St. Peter and Paul for the parade
12 a.m. – parading to the center of Ukmergė
12.10 p.m. – firing a salute near the monument “Lithuani Restituta”
12.20 p.m.– returning to Deltuva
12.40 p.m. – laying flowers at the obelisk in the memory of the Battle of Deltuva.
1 p.m. – returning to the campFrom
1 p.m. – lunch in the “Armonos” restaurant
2 p.m. – a live lesson of military history (the history of the Deltuvos Battle)
2.30 p.m. – a lesson of military history
3 p.m. – gathering
3-4 p.m. – preparations for the Deltuvos Battle staging
4-5 p.m. – staging of the Deltuvos Battle
5-5.10 p.m. – weapon check up
From 5 p.m. – sauna
From 7 p.m. – dinner in the “Aroma restaurant”
From 22 p.m. – music and fire
24 p.m. – soldier’s porridge
1 p.m. – the end of the programe
Sunday 06 24
9a.m. – wake-up command
10 a.m. – breakfast
11 a.m. – getting ready for leaving the camp
